The pixies of the nether went ahead and became the lights, skittering across lava oceans like garden ponds, completely unbothered by the whole molten rock situation. This one has decided to follow you instead. It flits around the hub like a lantern with opinions, lighting up rooms nobody asked it to. Technically you're the one being kept, but it seems happy with the arrangement, and you did ask nicely.
